“I joined Bramley Golf Club because I was very well welcomed at an open day.  They even provided me with clubs when mine were stuck in customs.  The women I met on that first day were so welcoming and lovely. I enjoy social and competitive golf, an increasing number of friendships, on a challenging course with great views. This club provides me with good company, fresh air and exercise! The course is challenging with a couple of steep climbs, many flat holes,  well-maintained fairways and greens, surrounded by the sound of a variety of birds.”

“I was encouraged to join Bramley several years ago. Until then, I had only played par three courses, was playing with second-hand clubs, and I had never had a lesson.  On top of that, I was in my sixties.  From the minute I started playing, I felt I was included, and my high handicap has never been a problem.  I can still enjoy all the competitions, playing with women of all abilities.  Even on a bad day, the course is just beautiful.

“As a latecomer to the game of golf and not a natural athlete, it was with some trepidation that I joined the Bramley Golf Academy.  I was seeking a new challenge, great exercise and the chance to build friendships, having recently moved into the area. Club membership has offered me the chance to play our wonderful scenic course with support and generous encouragement from both our professional coaches and my fellow members. For me, the game of golf remains an ever-evolving challenge. The opportunity to play the course for fun as well as in competitions with a fantastic group of new friends supports my continuing membership.”

“I joined Bramley Golf Academy with my husband.  We were both new to the area, hadn’t picked up a golf club for 25 years and had never had any lessons. Being a retired tennis player and enjoying competitive sports, I thought I’d give golf a go. In hindsight, I wish I had taken it up seriously many years ago.  Once I moved out of the Academy, I moved on to playing in regular competitions with the women and with the very welcoming men at the club.  I enjoy playing in the social golf events (sometimes in fancy dress), and even took on the role of Lady Captain. I never knew so much fun could be had playing a round of golf!”

“My husband and I moved to Surrey, not knowing anyone in the area.  I was new to golf, with a high handicap, and looking for a golf club which had a well-populated women’s section.  I wanted regular dedicated slots where I could play on an informal basis as well as enter both women’s and mixed competitions with a view to meeting new people. I very nervously entered my first women’s roll-up on a Thursday morning and was hugely impressed by how friendly everyone was.  This was even to the extent of at least 4/5 members recognising that I was new and introducing themselves to me in the car park as I unpacked my clubs!  As well as the roll-ups I play in the Tuesday competitions, and really enjoy both the set-up of the course and the beautiful scenery. Towards the end of my round, I find myself looking forward to a coffee and a catch-up with the many friends I have made since joining the club.”
