Bramley Golf Club have been helping local charities for over 50 years. Every year our Men’s and Ladies Captains choose a Charity to support. 

Captains Charities - 2022-2023

This year Club Captain Graham Smith and Lady Captain Laurie Henderson have chosen local charity Shooting Star Chase -  https://www.shootingstar.org.uk/

Their story began as two separate children’s hospice charities. CHASE which was founded in 1994 and The Shooting Star Trust founded in 1995. In April 2011, the two charities merged to become Shooting Star Chase, with the two hospices – Christopher’s in Guildford and Shooting Star House in Hampton – able to provide more care for more children and families across west London and Surrey. In February 2019 they updated their name to Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, to provide greater clarity about what they do. Today they are a leading children’s hospice charity supporting over 700 children, and their families, throughout Surrey and across 14 boroughs of London, 365 days a year.

Fund-raising started in ernest at the Captains 'Drive In' recently and various events and competitions will be organised to support the charity throughout the year.

Charities supported 2021-2022 were Arthouse and Alzheimer's Society

Throughout 2020-2021 Captains, Jenny McAteer and Stu Butler supported Air Ambulance Kent, Surrey, Sussex and the Golf Day in September raised a significant amount for the Charity.

During the Pandemic our members supported the amazing efforts of the NHS – raising funds for the delivery of Wellbeing Packs to Royal Surrey County Hospital staff.

Bramley Golf Club are pleased to announce that they have recently become members of the Surrey Hills Enterprises. 

We are the first Golf Club to become a member or the organisation. and been awarded the Surrey Hills Trademark.

By being part of this group will enable us to engage with the local community in promoting Bramley not only as a Golf club, but as contributing to developing our sustainability, and active involvement in projects such as the Woodland Management Programme, and Protected Landscapes. We will have an opportunity to promote our Club to local businesses as a quality location, for leisure activities and encourage more engagement with the club as more than just a golf club.

The Award promotes the very best of what Surrey has to offer and celebrates those organisations of high quality that reflect and support the distinct and special nature of the Surrey Hills and who share the values of supporting the local environment.
